Ciemat

CIEMAT (Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas) is a public research center under the Ministry of Economy and CompetitivenessSince its formation in 1951, it has developed and led R & D & I projects in the fields of energy, environment and technology.  It collaborates with other institutions, universities and companies to transfer the knowledge and technology that it has generated, supporting and encouraging innovation.

Renewable Energy Division

Since 1985 the CIEMAT has been developing its activities in the field of renewable energies as a member of a pioneer team in Spain. The main areas in which activities are developed are: biomass, biofuels, wind, solar PV, concentrating solar systems, environmental applications of solar radiation and energy efficiency in buildings.

CIEMAT Solar Radiation Group: measurement and characterisation

The group develop a set of actions focused on improving  knowledge of the solar radiation incident on the surface of the Earth, such as:

CETA-Ciemat

CETA-Ciemat (Centro Extremeño de Tecnología Avanzadas), located in Trujillo (Cáceres) helps providing expertise in engineering sortware, resources, data storage supercomputing and advanced services in the cloud.

Its aim is making available to researchers, collaborators and companies, their resources, skills and expertise in advanced computing technologies and the results of R & D in the areas of competence of CIEMAT, for promote programs of research, technological development and innovation for the benefit of science, industry and society in general.

IrSOLaV

IrSOLaV is a spin-off from CIEMAT with the participation of the Parque Científico of Madrid, with a broad experience in national and international research projects.

Its main purpose is the commercial exploitation of research developments of CIEMAT.IrSOLaV offers solar resource mapping, quality assurance of measured data, providing data estimated from satellite images, solar radiation, photovoltaic performance audit and estimation of photovoltaic power plants (PV) and solar thermal power concentration (STE). IrSOLaV is an international company that has worked on successful projects in over four continents.

Unef

UNEF (Unión Española Fotovoltaica) was established as an association on May 16, 2012, encompassing, among others, the three Spanish trade associations covering the entire value chain: Photovoltaic Business Association -AEF-, Section Photovoltaic the Association of Renewable Energy Producers -APPA-, and Photovoltaic Industry Association -ASIF-.

UNEF represent almost all the Spanish photovoltaic solar sector, including industry, installers and maintainers, producers and others  as engineers, consultants and investors.
